The gilt Roman helmet was found in the village of Berkasovo near Šid in 1955. together with another helmet and pieces of the military equipment of a Roman cavalry officer. It is made of iron, gilt silver coating and adorned with glass inlays imitating precious and semi-precious stones.
The helmet is dated to the beginning of the 4th century.
